フィリピンと日本、両国の俳優が共演する長編を作りたい。そんな想いを抱きながらこの物語を書きました。マニュエルもシゲルも、私がずっと前に日本で出会った実在の人物をもとに生まれたキャラクターです。
この作品には日本の性犯罪の量刑の軽さへの疑問や社会の歪みだけでなく、変化することへの適応の難しさも織り込まれています。受け入れることは決して容易ではないけれど、成長を阻む最大の敵は、外ではなく自身の中にある部分も大きいと強く感じる事が多く、そして私たちが当たり前だと感じている価値観は、とても脆いものなのかもしれません。
だからこそ、自分や何かを変えることが「やり直すこと」につながる世界も存在してほしい。
国も環境も異なる二人の男が、家族や経済的な問題をそれぞれに抱えながら共に逃亡者に立ち向かう。ニッチなテーマかもしれませんが、両国のリアルなエッセンスを込めました。この物語が、国や文化の垣根を超えて、見ていただいた方の心に何かを残してくれる事を願っています。

I want to make a feature film with actors from both the Philippines and Japan. I wrote this story with this in mind. Both Manuel and Shigeru are characters based on real people I met in Japan long ago. In this movie we portray sex crimes in Japan, the economic decline caused by a lack of innovation, and the harsh reality of the entertainment industry in the Philippines. Two men from different countries and different environments, each with their own family and financial problems, face the fugitive together believing that this will be the quick way to resolve their issues. 

We will learn from these characters how difficult it is to swallow acceptance and most of the time we’d rather proceed in taking the long way and complicating things rather than simply putting the gloves down and starting easy all over again on a clear canvas. 

 It may be a niche theme, but we put the real essence of both countries into this movie. We hope that this story will transcend national and cultural boundaries and leave something and realization in the hearts of those who see it.
